*Many world-renowned Champagne House options available, including but not limited to Ruinart Champagne House, Veuve Cliquot, Charles Heidseck and more.
On day two, the morning will be free for you to take full advantage of the hotel’s superb spa facilities, including a Hammam bath, sauna, swimming pool and Jacuzzi. In this oasis of peace, surrender yourself to the intimate Zen atmosphere and enjoy a 50-minute face or body spa treatment of your choice.
At lunchtime, a pre-booked and pre-paid taxi will escort you to the famous village of Hautvillers, the “cradle of Champagne”. As well as having time to admire the spectacular views across the vineyards and visit the Church where Dom Pérignon is buried, a comparative tasting session of three single varietal Champagnes will take place in a quaint tasting boutique in the village. Platters of cheeses and gourmet local delicacies will also be served. Ending your day in style, you will visit the largest Champagne house, Moët and Chandon, where you will have an exclusive Dom Pérignon tour. You will be visiting some of the oldest areas of the cellars which are seldom visited by the public. A tasting of Dom Pérignon will conclude the visit in an elegant reception room at the Moët mansion.
In the evening, you will be welcomed to dine in the gastronomic restaurant, where you will be served a four-course gourmet dinner, accompanied by a Champagne aperitif and wines. World-renowned chef Michael Nizzero spent four years as First Sous-Chef at the prestigious three Michelin-starred Waterside Inn, Berkshire, UK, before joining La Briqueterie in 2011.
For those booking the four-day package, you will be transported throughout the day on day three in a luxury chauffeured vehicle (Mercedes E or S Class) on a private basis. You will firstly visit a small, family-run producer of Champagnes for a full tour of the fascinating Champagne making process from vine to bottle, and at least three tastings including vintage Champagne. A three-course Champagne tasting lunch will then be served in a cosy traditional restaurant in Reims. Each course will be accompanied by a different Champagne.
The afternoon offers you the chance to visit your favourite Champagne House in Reims. Subject to your dates of travel/availability, options include Taittinger, where three Champagnes will be served including their famous Prestige Cuvée les Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, GH Mumm to taste their Blanc de Blancs and Blancs de Noirs Champagnes, Pommery to sample two Champagnes, Ruinart to taste Ruinart Blanc de Blancs or Ruinart rosé followed by their flagship Prestige Cuvée Dom Ruinart white or rosé, and Veuve Clicquot, to enjoy a flute of their celebrated La Grande Dame. Please note that some of these Houses (particularly Veuve Clicquot and Ruinart) are very popular and offer very few tours, therefore early booking is essential.
Before being taken back to the hotel, you will have some free time to explore Reims, the city of Kings and the gateway to Champagne. Reims is home to no less than three UNESCO world heritage sites including one of the finest gothic cathedrals in northern Europe where 25 Kings of France were crowned.
