5 Ways You Can Detox Ahead Of Summer
The partying, holidays and sunshine can all take its toll on your mind and body during summer. It is inevitable that at some point we are going to eat a little too much, drink a little too much and spend a little too long in the sun. For this reason, it is a good idea to nourish your body and mind as much as possible before summer officially arrives, to give yourself the best chance of coming out the other side feeling healthy and happy.
We have prepared five tips for a rejuvenating, cleansing detox before the summer. You won’t find any suggestions of fasting, fad diets or unrealistic goals here; just easy to follow advice for a mind and body refresh.
Swap booze for H2O
A cold G&T, cocktail or beer might taste divine but unfortunately, our favourite alcoholic drinks are full of toxins (they don’t call it intoxicated for no reason!). A simple way to detox is to cut these out and instead keep hydrated with plenty of water. Add lemon and turmeric to warm water for an extra detoxing boost first thing in the morning - it is good for your digestive system, organs like the heart and liver, and circulation.
Dry brush
More than just a trick to get glowing skin, using a dry body brush has lots of wellness benefits too. It improves your immune system by stimulating the lymphatic system, improves circulation, and increases energy levels. Spend a few minutes three times a week for best results and carry on through the summer to prevent ingrown hairs from regular shaving.
Up your probiotics intake
The stomach is nicknamed your second brain because a healthy gut is so closely linked to a healthy mind. Probiotics help keep both feeling great by boosting levels of ‘good’ bacteria, which is especially needed just before a summer of indulgence. You can get them in the form of supplements or in speciality yoghurts.

All are good ways to get your blood flowing and carrying away toxins while giving your mind some peace and quiet.
